Eric Doucet | Lighting DirectorEric has been a lighting design specialist with SW Audio Visual since 1999. Originally from New Brunswick, Eric has worked all over Canada. Notable clients include Tom Cochrane, Great Big Sea and Ray Charles. He has also worked with large corporate clients such as RE/MAX, Cadbury and Western Star Trucks. Eric makes sure that every production achieves just the right mood and ambiance, with true colours and optimal lighting. Ben Pidskalny | Lighting DirectorBen has worked at SW for the past 10 years as a lighting and video director. Although he has a background and degree in mechanical engineering and a diploma in business management, Ben's main passion is lighting for indoor and outdoor concerts. Ben has worked on many of SW Audio Visual's high profile events including Wakefest with Sam Roberts and Metric, Dragon Boat Festival with 54-40, Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival, Tom Cochrane, Sloan and Default. Corporate events include visits by the Prime Minister of Canada and the Premier of BC, the World Junior Hockey Championships, the Memorial Cup, the Telus Skins Game, and the Ironman Triathlon Circuit. Chris McKillican | Video and Audio EngineerChris has a degree in audio engineering and specializes in producing media components for awards shows and galas. Having won awards for his national radio and television work, Chris was welcomed to the SW team in 2003. Some of his recent productions include the YW/YMCA Women of Distinction Awards, the Vancouver General Hospital Annual Gala, the Kelowna Business Excellence Awards and the opening sequence for the 2004 MasterCard Memorial Cup. John Adams | Audio Engineer, Sound System Design and OperationsAs a 20-year veteran of the audio industry, John has the technical skill and sophisticated ear to bring the best in sound engineering to our clients. John is a former audio instructor for Columbia Academy and his experience as an audio engineer has earned him the expertise to deal with every sound challenge. Prior to moving back to his hometown of Kelowna, John spent several years working in the Vancouver music industry. He has worked with artists such as Jann Arden and Ray Charles. John excels at setting up and managing mixing systems, as well as handling event operations and room acoustics. He is fully trained in SMAART processing. Rob Brown | Chief Video SpecialistRob has been in the audio visual industry for over 20 years and has spent over ten of them with SW Audio Visual, with a specialty in broadcast video. He is an expert in teleconferencing for video and the web, and he keeps everything running smoothly and efficiently. Rob is a key technician who oversees many major projects. As the consummate professional, Rob maintains the composure needed to provide excellent service for even the most complex projects. Christie Armstrong | Account ExecutiveChristie has been with SW since October 2001 and started out in SW's Rental Department. Since then she has moved into Sales and works primarily on private and consumer trade shows. Most recently, Christie worked on the Bill Clinton visit to Kelowna, CHBA Home Show Victoria, bi-annual events for the Your Dollar Store with More Corporation, the 2006 BC Tourism Conference in Penticton BC, Canadian Society of Otolaryngology Conference 2006 and Kelowna Home Show. Christie attended college in Saskatchewan where she received a BA in Business. She is also the shortest employee at SW, but the most fun! Brent Nicholson | Vancouver Island Regional ManagerBrent has been involved in the audio visual industry since 1997. Brent came to SW after graduating from the University of Victoria with a degree in Fine Arts focusing on Technical Production. Brent served as lead technician for SW at the 2006 World Junior Hockey Championships, the 2005 Bell Canadian Open, and the Telus Skins Game in 2005 and 2006. Brent has now set his focus to Vancouver Island and the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre, where SW provides services to the arena and the Victoria Salmon Kings. Brent's most recent Victoria events include Skate Canada International, The Billy Graham Evangelistic Society, Bill Clinton's speaking tour, and Prime Minister Harper's visit to Victoria. Calvin McCarthy | CEOCalvin, together with Grant Mackney, started SW Audio Visual back in 1990. Cal is proud of the fact that SW Audio Visual has become the largest audio visual company in the Okanagan. Highly regarded as a technical event specialist, Cal has been involved in many major sporting events including the Export A Skins Games (golf), Davis Cup Tennis, the World Wakeboard Championships, and also provides ongoing technical services to the Kelowna Rockets. He was a member of Kelowna's winning bid team for the 2004 MasterCard Memorial Cup. Cal is the current technical director for Ironman North America, providing for Ironman events throughout Canada and the United States. He also serves as Vice President of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce. |
